What is the Clytha Friends Association?

The Clytha Friends Association (CFA) is a fundraising charity (our school’s parent-teacher association). As a parent/guardian of a child at Clytha Primary School you are automatically a member of the CFA. The day to day running of the CFA is carried out by a small committee of volunteers, but we always welcome all offers of help and new ideas.

Who are the CFA Committee?

The current CFA committee (academic year 2020/2021) are:

Chair: Laura Bradley

Co-vice-chairs: Sophie Barker / Claire Dowsell

Treasurer: Tracy Harries

Secretary: Helen Bader

What can I do?

There are lots of ways you can help and support your child and our school through the CFA:

  • Offers of help before, during or after fundraising events are so valuable. It doesn’t matter if you can’t help on a regular basis, the CFA gratefully welcomes any support it receives.

  • If you have suggestions for new ways to raise money for the school, then we’d be very keen to hear them! You can attend CFA committee meetings or just get in touch with a committee member for a chat.

  • If you don’t have time to help at events then that doesn’t matter – you can still support the CFA by coming along with your family or by contributing raffle prizes etc.

  • Use easyfundraising.org.uk every time you shop online and raise FREE donations for us no matter what you’re buying. These donations really help us out, so please sign up if you haven’t yet.

What does the CFA do?

The poster to the right will give you an idea of just some of the things that the CFA does. We raise money to spend on improving equipment and resources to enhance our children’s education and the facilities in the school in general. We aim to bring staff, parents, pupils and friends together in support of our school by promoting closer home-school links.

Last year the money raised by the CFA helped to buy much-needed new books for the school library and contributed to many of the school trips and activities that took place. During the Covid-19 closure the CFA set up a very successful Crowdfunder appeal which purchased outdoor learning equipment to assist with the return to school at the end of the summer term.

This year one of our main goals is to purchase interactive C-Touch screens for some of the classrooms, to replace the old whiteboards which are coming to the end of their useful lives!
